Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Smoothcast is a live-streaming, video and production platform at smoothcast.tv. This Privacy Policy applies to visitors, viewers, creators and people who use our Google sign-in or optional connected-platform features. It explains what information we access, why we use it, who receives it, how it is protected and how you can request its deletion.

Smoothcast is responsible for the personal information it processes for these services. Privacy requests can be sent to noreply@smoothcast.tv. External websites and services have their own privacy policies.

1. Information we collect

  • Account and profile data: email address, account identifier, display name, username, profile photo, biography, roles and verification status, used to establish your account and permissions.
  • Content and communications: broadcasts, uploaded videos and images, schedules, channel pages, chat, moderation reports and messages to staff, used to deliver content and support community safety.
  • Activity and preferences: follows, reminders, notification subscriptions, viewer activity, likes and subscription status, used for requested features, audience reporting and service improvement.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, authentication sessions, request logs and playback errors, used for security, troubleshooting and delivery.
  • Transaction information: purchase references, subscription status, credit balances and creator payout account references, used for billing and accounting. Payment credentials and raw bank details are handled by the processing banking service, not stored by Smoothcast.

Information comes from you, your activity on Smoothcast and services you choose to connect. Public profiles, broadcasts, schedules and public chat are visible to other users. Your account email, login tokens and raw payment details are not published as part of your public profile.

2. Google sign-in and connected services

Google account sign-in

When you choose “Continue with Google,” Google makes available your Google account identifier, email address and verification status, and basic profile information such as your name and profile picture, subject to the permissions shown on Google’s consent screen. Basic sign-in uses identity, email and profile permissions (openid, userinfo.email and userinfo.profile). We use the identifier to match your account, the email to authenticate and send requested account communications, and profile details to populate your account profile. We do not receive your Google password.

Google sign-in alone does not grant Smoothcast access to your Gmail messages, contacts, Google Drive files, calendars or YouTube account management. You can use available non-Google sign-in methods instead.

Optional YouTube channel connection

Connecting a YouTube channel in creator tools is a separate, optional authorization, not a requirement for signing in. The connection currently requests the YouTube permission youtube.force-ssl, which allows broad access to YouTube account content and actions as described by Google’s consent screen. The connected-account feature reads your YouTube channel identifier and channel title to link the correct channel. Separate channel-status features may read public channel names, thumbnails, video titles and live or upcoming broadcast details through the YouTube API to display channel status.

We store the connected channel identifier, title or handle, granted permissions, token expiration and connection status. Access and refresh tokens for creator platform connections are encrypted at rest and used for authorized API requests. The existence of a broad permission does not mean every action it permits is performed; new user-facing actions must be authorized through the relevant feature.

Google API Services User Data Policy — Limited Use

Smoothcast’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • Google user data is used only to provide or improve the user-facing sign-in and connected-account features described in this policy.
  • We do not sell Google user data, use it for personalized advertising, transfer it to data brokers, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
  • Google account and connected YouTube data are not provided to AI services to train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
  • Transfers of Google user data are limited to what is needed to provide or improve these features, comply with applicable law, protect security, or complete a business transfer with the consent required by Google’s policy.
  • Human access to Google user data is limited to circumstances allowed by Google’s policy: your affirmative agreement for specific data, necessary security investigations, legal obligations, or aggregated and anonymized internal operations.

You can disconnect a creator connection in the connected-platform controls and revoke Google permissions at your Google Account connections page. Disconnecting removes the saved creator connection and its tokens from the active connection record. Revoking Google access stops future authorized access but does not automatically delete your Smoothcast profile or previously stored records; request deletion as described below.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide accounts and streaming, deliver requested reminders, manage subscriptions and earnings, personalize features, respond to requests, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. Where applicable, our legal bases include consent, performance of a contract, legal obligations and legitimate interests in operating a safe service.

4. Sharing and service providers

  • Hosting and account services: Lovable Cloud supports application hosting, authentication, account records and storage and processes the information required for those services.
  • Video delivery: Bunny.net and configured delivery providers receive uploaded media and delivery requests, which may include IP addresses and technical information needed to serve video.
  • Email and notifications: delivery providers process recipients’ email addresses or push subscription endpoints and message content to send account messages and requested reminders.
  • Payment processing: the processing banking service handles checkout, payment details, verification and payouts; Smoothcast receives references and transaction status.
  • Optional AI: prompts, selected content and text submitted for AI features may be processed through the Lovable AI Gateway and its model providers to fulfill the request. Moderation features may process submitted chat text to assess safety. Google login information and connected YouTube account data are not submitted for generalized AI model training.
  • Connected platforms: Google, YouTube and other platforms you authorize receive the requests needed for their features. Public embeds and external links are subject to those providers’ privacy practices.

Do not submit confidential information or personal data you are not authorized to share to optional AI tools. Providers receive information for the functions they supply, not a general right to use private account data for unrelated purposes.

Payment and banking details are handled by the processing banking service. Smoothcast stores payment references and status, not raw bank details. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect rights or safety, or in a business transfer with appropriate protections. We do not sell personal information.

5. Cookies and browser storage

We use cookies or similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences and support essential features. External video, payment and connected services may use their own cookies under their policies. You can manage browser storage in your browser settings; blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in or other features from working.

6. Retention, security and international processing

Account and profile information is retained while your account remains active, unless you request deletion. Published media and community records remain while needed for the service or until removed subject to applicable rights and moderation requirements. Connected-platform credentials remain while the connection is active; disconnected creator credentials are removed from the active connection record. Transaction and safety records may be retained longer to meet legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute requirements.

When a verified deletion request is processed, we delete or anonymize information no longer needed. Limited records may remain where legally required or necessary to establish or defend legal claims; backup copies may remain until their normal replacement cycle. We do not promise an immediate purge of every backup or third-party copy.

Safeguards include encrypted HTTPS transport, access controls for private records, server-verified permissions for privileged features and encryption of stored creator platform tokens. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your account and avoid publishing sensitive information.

Providers may process information outside your country. Where required, appropriate legal safeguards apply to international transfers.

7. Your choices and rights

You can update available profile and notification settings, disconnect services and unsubscribe from reminder emails. To request access, correction, a copy of your data, deletion of Google-connected data or closure of your Smoothcast account, email noreply@smoothcast.tv with the subject “Smoothcast privacy request.” Identify your Smoothcast username and whether you want a connection removed, specific data deleted or the whole account closed. Never send passwords, payment credentials or access tokens.

We may verify the request using the email linked to your account before acting, and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. Where information must be retained, we will explain the applicable limitation. Revoking permissions and requesting deletion are separate steps.

Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to your local privacy regulator. Withdrawing consent does not affect lawful processing before withdrawal. Mandatory privacy rights apply regardless of these descriptions.

8. Children’s privacy

Smoothcast is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

9. Updates and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated as required by law.
